Comprehensive Behavioral Health & Integrated Care Services
Every service at Health Alliance Integrated Care is designed to function within our collaborative care model. Your treatment team coordinates across disciplines so you receive unified, evidence-based support that addresses the complete spectrum of your mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. All services are available in-person at our Minneapolis clinic and via HIPAA-compliant telehealth for established patients throughout Minnesota.
Behavioral Health Counseling
Core ServiceOur licensed therapists provide individual, couples, and family counseling using rigorously validated therapeutic modalities tailored to each patient's clinical presentation, cultural background, and personal goals. Treatment begins with a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment that informs a collaborative care plan developed jointly by you and your clinical team. Sessions are typically 50 minutes and occur weekly during the active treatment phase, transitioning to biweekly and monthly as clinical milestones are achieved.
Evidence-based therapeutic modalities offered include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression, anxiety, and insomnia; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training for emotional dysregulation and borderline personality features; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma and PTSD; Motivational Interviewing for ambivalence about change; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for chronic pain and illness adjustment; and Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and family systems work.

Psychiatric Medication Management
Integrated PrescribingOur board-eligible psychiatric prescribers conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations using the DSM-5-TR framework and provide pharmacological treatment for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic spectrum conditions, ADHD, insomnia, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Every prescription decision is made through real-time consultation with your therapist and, when appropriate, your primary care physician. This collaborative prescribing model eliminates the dangerous medication conflicts and duplicative treatments that arise when psychiatric care operates in isolation from the rest of your healthcare.
Medication management appointments include structured symptom monitoring using validated instruments (PHQ-9, GAD-7, ASRS), side effect assessment, laboratory coordination for medications requiring metabolic monitoring, and treatment response evaluation against your individualized outcome targets. Follow-up intervals range from weekly during titration phases to quarterly for stable maintenance patients. All psychiatric notes are shared in real time with your therapy team through our integrated electronic health record system.
Primary Care Navigation
Care CoordinationMany behavioral health patients also manage chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, chronic pain syndromes, and autoimmune disorders. Research consistently demonstrates that untreated depression and anxiety worsen medical outcomes, reduce treatment adherence, and increase healthcare costs. Our primary care navigation service bridges this gap by assigning a dedicated care coordinator who partners with your medical providers to ensure behavioral health treatment and medical care reinforce one another rather than operating in parallel.
Care coordinators assist with appointment scheduling and transportation, insurance prior authorizations, specialist referral tracking, medication reconciliation between providers, health literacy education, and chronic disease self-management coaching. This service is especially valuable for patients managing multiple medications, navigating complex insurance requirements, or transitioning between levels of care such as hospital discharge to outpatient follow-up.
Substance Use Recovery Support
Co-Occurring SpecialtySubstance use disorders rarely occur in isolation. The majority of individuals with problematic alcohol, opioid, stimulant, or cannabis use also experience co-occurring depression, anxiety, trauma, or other mental health conditions. Traditional treatment models that address substance use and mental health separately produce inferior outcomes because the conditions reinforce each other. Our integrated substance use recovery program treats both simultaneously within the same clinical team, ensuring that your recovery support, therapy, and psychiatric care are fully coordinated.
Program components include individual SUD counseling, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) coordination with prescribers for opioid use disorder (buprenorphine, naltrexone), alcohol use disorder (naltrexone, acamprosate), and tobacco cessation, certified peer recovery specialist support, structured relapse prevention planning, family education sessions, and warm referrals to Hennepin County recovery community organizations. We accept all Minnesota Medicaid substance use disorder benefit plans and most commercial insurance.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
Specialty ProgramOur trauma-informed therapy program provides specialized treatment for individuals who have experienced childhood abuse or neglect, domestic violence, sexual assault, community violence, military combat, first responder critical incidents, or other traumatic events. Treatment is delivered by clinicians with advanced certification in trauma processing modalities within a clinical environment designed around principles of safety, trustworthiness, peer support, collaboration, and cultural humility.
Primary therapeutic approaches include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which uses bilateral stimulation to facilitate adaptive processing of traumatic memories; Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD-related cognitive distortions; Prolonged Exposure Therapy for avoidance-driven symptom maintenance; and Somatic Experiencing for trauma stored in the body. Psychiatric medication support for trauma-related insomnia, hyperarousal, and nightmares is coordinated seamlessly through our integrated prescribing team.
Family Systems Counseling
Families & CouplesMental health challenges affect entire family systems, not just the identified patient. Our family systems counseling program works with couples, parents and children, blended families, and multi-generational family units to improve communication, resolve conflict, repair relational ruptures, and build resilience as a cohesive unit. Treatment draws from the Gottman Method for couples, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for attachment repair, Structural Family Therapy for boundary and hierarchy work, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for behavioral challenges in young children.
When individual family members also require their own therapeutic support, our integrated model allows each person to have their own therapist within the same clinical team. These therapists consult regularly (with appropriate consent) to ensure that individual and family treatment goals are aligned, that progress in one modality reinforces the other, and that the family system as a whole moves toward healthier functioning. Family sessions are 60 to 75 minutes and scheduled at a frequency determined collaboratively with your treatment team.
All services are available in-person and via telehealth. Most major insurance plans accepted.
